Vooral zondag was het erg hectisch. “We zijn heel vaak voor spoedoverleg bij elkaar geweest, we hebben drie scenario’s moeten bedenken. Eerst ging de opening in het Stadspark niet door, daarna moest de buitentent dicht en alle sporters kwamen ook nog eens tegelijk de Martinihal binnen. Maar naar omstandigheden is het erg goed gegaan. Wat mij betreft een prima stuk improvisatie. Nu doen we alle catering behalve de maaltijden, en dat betekent per dag bijvoorbeeld honderden liters koffie. Dat kunnen we trouwens prima aan. Ook de samenwerking met Albron catering, die de maaltijden verzorgt, is goed. Ik hoop dat het tijdens de finaledagen lekker druk wordt, en dat alle vrijwilligers na de sluitingsceremonie gezellig naar het feest komen. He had a couple of busy days, but now Bert Keukenkamp has some time to catch his breath. Keukenkamp is the president of Keuk & Kamp, the company organizing the catering in the Martinihal. Sunday was especially hectic. “We had a lot of emergency meetings. We had to come up with three different scenarios. First the opening ceremony in the Stadspark was canceled, then the outside tents had to be closed and on top of that all sportsmen came into the Martinihal at the same time. But considering the circumstances everything went very well. A fine example of improvisation, I’d say. Now we’re providing all catering except for the meals. That means hundreds of liters of coffee a day, for example. Which is not a problem for us, by the way. The cooperation with Albron, the catering company providing the meals is working out fine, too. I hope there will be a nice, big crowd during the days of the finals and that all volunteers will get together and join us for the party after the closing ceremony.” (translation by René van der Hoofd)
